Who's The One Behind The Blog

After accepting a challenge to write a blog, I really should continue to write the blog, and a very good place to start it to talk about who I am.

I'm Jessie, I'm Crafty, I'm Canadian, and I have Celiac Disease. Which (other than my name) you could have figured out from the name of the blog.

I am 36 years old and just over one year post diagnosis and I'm still very much learning about this new gluten free life I'm going to live.

I have been married for 8 and a half years to an amazing man who declared our home a gluten free zone immediately upon confirmation of Celiac.

I have three cats, one of whom likes to use my head as a seat.

One of the big things I found when I was first diagnosed and searching for information is that, while the Canadian Celiac Association is a huge resource for those newly diagnosed and seasoned gluten free lifers alike, the Canadian information tended to be drowned out by the information coming from the United States.

While some of the general information was helpful, product labeling, warnings, resources and advice was vastly different between the countries.

So, while I'm not a doctor or medical professional by any sense of the word, I am someone who's trying to navigate this gluten free life in Canada, and I hope that some of my experiences may be helpful for someone else who may be searching for help.

Challenge Accepted

Greetings one and all to my little gluten free corner of the internet.

Celiac Sojourness cast down a challenge on her blog explaining 5 reasons her readers with Celiac Disease should start a blog in 2019.

Now I sat back, took a few days, and ended up deciding: Gosh darn it! Why don't I?

Now... I will pretend that I don't have a number of failed blogs in my past, or a completely crafting devoted blog that has years between posts but I am attempting to update once per week this year.

For all the failed attempts in the past, I am bound and determined to give this challenge a go! I will be posting a bit more about myself and my plans for this blog later this week, but for now, as the title of this post states... Celiac Sojourness:
